    Hello,

When following the youtube links to the Kinect Camera Extrinsic Calibration videos (steps 4 and 5) from the “Instructions” website the description says that these videos are obsolete. We are instructed to go to

    https://idav.ucdavis.edu/~okreylos/ResDev/SARndbox/LinkSoftwareInstallation.html

But this link appears to be broken. Is there an alternative link/instructions site?

As there is no response I take it that we should ignore the warning that those videos for steps 4 and 5 are obsolete and go ahead and use them for calibration. I’m posting this so future developers will understand this.

Hi @jdbaker500 this forum isn’t super active so you have to be a little patient sometimes to get a response. If you check the first post you’ll find an updated versions of the AR Sandbox suite. The site you linked to didn’t work for as it looks like a private subnet at UC Davis.

I think this is the public facing version of the same thing: https://web.cs.ucdavis.edu/~okreylos/ResDev/SARndbox/

That site still has the older installation instructions but a lot of it still relevant and worth a read through to get the most out of the software.

The videos are not totally obsolete but there have been some changes with the updates so that may be why the descriptions say that.

This forum isn’t super active but if you’re patient there’s a few enthusiasts of us who check in once in awhile including the author of the software to answer questions and provide some support.

Thanks for the reply, robbo. It wasn’t so much impatience as it was noticing questions asked after were answered, so I took that as my question didn’t need answering.

The link you site was the page I originally found for the project, which links to the “these basic instructions” page, which links to the “obsolete” videos of steps 4 and 5. Maybe it’s straightforward to figure out what is still valid in those videos.
