Our sandbox projection is very distorted, and we can’t quite figure out why. As you can see in the images, it’s skewed and the sides of the sandbox look very deep. The projector and Kinect are mounted/positioned correctly and we’ve run all the calibration steps multiple times. Everything looks good in the boxlayout.txt and we’ve even swapped out the Kinect thinking that might be the issue.
Any ideas on what may be the problem? Is it possible a corrupt calibration file is cached somewhere?

What I find odd is the gentleness of the slope at your box edges, our sandbox has vertical “cliffs” at the sand edges and this is reflected in tight contour lines.

I added an image with better lighting to the link above. While it’s harder to tell in the photo, we’re still having the same general issue as shown in the first photo. I’m assisting this team remotely so don’t have hands on the hardware and software. I’m thinking a complete re-install may be in order.
They also tried a new installation on a laptop, and while the topo lines seem better, there’s no color on the image. I’m trying to determine what could be going on there as well.

Some thoughts…
Are the Kinect and projector mounted in the same orientation?
Were the Kinect or projector moved after calibration?
After Step 11 (with CalibrateProjector), does the green circle project onto the target disk and follow it as it moves? Do the red crosshairs track near the center of the target disk? See Oliver’s calibration video for an example.
there’s no color on the image.
This may be as simple as accidentally not including the “-uhm” option when starting SARndbox.
